Coupe in Competition specification costs £ 250,000 less than usual

The Australian brand Brabham has announced the third modification of the BT62 supercar. Racing Competition has been added to the option for the Ultimate Track Car track days and regular Road Compliant Conversion roads.

The appearance of the new version will not make adjustments to the initial plans for the volume of release – the circulation of the supercar is still limited to 70 copies. Any of the options can be ordered with left or right-hand drive, and in the Competition specification, if desired, upgrade to Ultimate Track Car or road. The racing version of the coupe is offered without interior trim and a passenger seat, so its price is only 750 thousand pounds instead of a million for the option for track days.

Technically, the Brabham BT62 Competition is no different from other versions of the coupe. At the heart is a carbon monocoque and alloy steel, complemented by an integrated safety cage. At the rear, within the base, an atmospheric V8 5.4 is installed with a return of 710 hp and 667 Nm of torque. Gearbox – six-step sequencer Holinger. A slight difference in the brakes – here they are carbon, – as well as in the settings of the ABS and traction control. Aggressive aerodynamic plumage can generate up to 1200 kilograms of downforce.

The dynamic debut of the Brabham BT62 Competition will take place in early November on the Brands Hatch race track in the UK. The coupe will take part in day and night qualification sessions, as well as a two-hour race for the Britcar Endurance Championship.

The company Brabham Automotive belongs to the son of three-time Formula 1 champion Jack Brabham David. The Brabham team, which took part in the 402 Grand Prix from 1960 to 1992 and won the Design Cup twice, is best known for its innovative developments. Among them: carbon fiber brakes, hydropneumatic suspension and fans to create a vacuum under the bottom of the car.
