On October 2, the Paris Motor Show will open, within which Toyota will also take part. The manufacturer intends to introduce the revived Supra coupe, which will become the main premiere, and new versions of the Yaris compact hatchback will also be shown.

One of the main presentations of the Paris Motor Show will be the sports coupe Toyota Supra. But this will not be the only premiere in Paris from the Japanese company. A place for new modifications of the Yaris compact hatchback was also found.

So, at the beginning of next month, the sports version of the Toyota Yaris GR Sport and the new commemorative version will make its debut publicly. GR Sport is essentially a slightly simplified version of last year’s Yaris GRMN. Released in limited edition. Thus, the company begins an active phase of promoting its sports division Gazoo Racing.

GR Sport is built on the basis of a conventional production hatch, equipped with a hybrid power plant with a total capacity of up to 100 horsepower. Under the hood is an atmospheric half-liter engine with a power of up to 75 horsepower, working in tandem with a 61-horsepower electric motor.

Despite the fact that the company did not modify the power unit – the suspension and the chassis were subjected to serious recycling. The compact hatchback received Sachs shock absorbers from the GRMN version and more rigid stabilizers. And the clearance was reduced by 11 mm with respect to the serial modification.

In addition, the sports version is equipped with proprietary 17-inch wheels, a spoiler on the fifth door, as well as additional decorative elements on the doors. Interior design has also undergone changes. The model received a steering wheel from a sports coupe Toyota GT86, and also new seats with lateral support and a new design of the panel of devices.

Another novelty will be the Yaris Y20, which will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the model. The first version of Yaris was presented exactly 20 years at the Paris Motor Show in 1998. The jubilee version is based on the modification of Launch Edition with golden coloring (similar to the first version). The model will also receive unique 16-inch wheels and two-color trim seats.

The jubilee modification will be released in the amount of 1998 units, but later the car will go into the serial line, but without the golden color and memorable badges.

In the meantime, Toyota came up with a new way to protect its cars from hijacking. For this, an additional identifier will be applied to the body of each car, which will be more difficult to counterfeit than the VIN numbers.
