Toyota Yaris GR-4 debuts delayed due to fires in AustraliaNovember 14, 2019
Recently, Toyota Corporation has promised that very soon there will be many options for the new Yaris and even a special variation of the WRC.
In early November, the company confirmed its plans with a teaser, in particular, the fact that the new “charged” Yaris hatchback will appear in the near future.
Initially, the Japanese brand is scheduled to introduce the Yaris GR-4 during Rally Australia (November 14-17), but today there was information that the company postponed the debut of the car. This decision is due to catastrophic fires in the country.
“The Toyota team was empty after seeing this disaster, and we want to help the victims, for this reason we and our parent corporation in Japan are happy to provide a quarter of a million dollars to the Australian Salvation Army. We admire and greatly respect the Salvation Army, many other organizations and individuals who come together to support everyone in need, ”said Matthew Callahore, president of Toyota Australia.
It should be emphasized that due to the natural disaster, the organizers of Rally Australia had to cancel the event, and Toyota says that it will unveil its plans for the production of Yaris GR-4 later.
The Japanese brand also encourages people to support financial, moral, and physical assistance organizations in their fight against a devastating catastrophe.
