Toyota will present 19 new models by 2022December 4, 2018
The 36-month development plan for the brand implies the emergence of new crossovers / SUVs, as well as a new version of the Supra coupe.
The Japanese automaker Toyota now do not have any problems with sales of their models. Perhaps the most popular of them are – the compact crossover RAV4, as well as sedans Camry and Corolla. Global sales of the Toyota Tacoma pickup and Highlander crossover are growing.
In order to remain one of the most popular brands in the world, the management of the Japanese brand has developed a strategy according to which in three years 19 new / updated models will be presented.
Sounds ambitious, doesn’t it? In fact, most of these cars will be new versions of existing Toyota models. As part of their recent interview, foreign journalists from AutoGuide were able to find out some details about the new development plan for the brand. According to Jack Hollis, who is the CEO of Toyota North America, some of these new products will be new crossovers and SUVs. Sedans and hatchbacks will also receive attention.
One of these cars will be a new generation of sports legend Toyota Supra. Mr. Hollis noted separately that the official presentation of this car will take place next month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (USA).
It is known that among these 19 new products will be a new version of the compact SUV FJ Cruiser and the revived sports car MR2.
Finally, we note that in this development plan there is also a new version of the hybrid model Prius, which was presented just yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
