Toyota will introduce the serial Toyota TJ Cruiser in 2022May 6, 2020
The appearance of a serial variation of the Toyota TJ Cruiser – a hybrid of a minivan and an SUV – is expected in 2022. As IndianAutosblog reports on Tuesday, May 5, the novelty will be located one step below the RAV4 cross and compete with the American Jeep Compass.
The novelty has not yet acquired a trade name, however, it has an interesting internal factory name “local boy”.
Such a name may indicate that the Japanese company is preparing a practical and versatile car that can show its best qualities and “be your own” in any conditions – both in the city and on the road.
According to the assumptions, the serial modification of the TJ Cruiser will have an angular design with an abundance of straight lines, wider arches and a dimensional protective kit of unpainted plastic, which will be fixed around the entire perimeter of the body.
The SUV will be built on the compact GA-C platform, which underlies cars such as the Toyota Prius, C-HR and Corolla. The novelty will receive a length of 4410 mm, a width of 1815 mm and a height of 1600 mm. A gasoline engine (specifications are kept secret) and a hybrid power unit, which will include a 2.0-liter gas turbo four and an electric motor, will appear in the engine lineup.
The novelty should debut in 2022, while the timing of the start of sales is not yet known. First of all, the new model is likely to appear on the Indian market, and then in China, Europe
