Toyota upgrades conservative Camry through Camry SL HybridSeptember 2, 2019
The eighth generation of the legendary Toyota Camry business sedan has been virtually re-created. Until this time, the model was considered one of the most conservative on the market.
The Japanese company Toyota managed to surprise its fans with the new generation of the Toyota Camry business-class sedan. For various regional markets, the brand has prepared a very original version of the new sedan. So, dealers of the brand around the world offer versions of Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX and SL models with various gasoline and hybrid powertrains. Of particular interest in terms of the evolution of Toyota Camry design and technology is the SL Hybrid.
All current Camry versions receive the new global TNGA architecture. Under the hood of the SL Hybrid lies a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine with a return of 175 horsepower, combined with a 118-horsepower electric engine. As a pair for its hybrid, the manufacturer chose the Toyota CVT gearbox.
In the combined cycle, such a car, according to the developers, consumes only 4.5 liters for every hundred kilometers.
Signature low landing remained, while the exterior of the sedan itself became more impudent: complex geometry, sharp corners, embossed hood and spectacular optics. The manufacturer made sure that the seats and steering wheel Camry SL Hybrid can be adjusted for each individual person. And the smart electronics are responsible for choosing the perfect option. The list of available options for the SL Hybrid includes dual-zone climate control, wireless charging for gadgets, Bluetooth and USB, satellite navigation, etc.
