Toyota updated frame minivan on Fortuner and Hilux chassisOctober 17, 2020
Toyota Innova monocab has undergone restyling and added to the equipment
Toyota has updated the frame three-row minivan Innova. The monocab, based on the same chassis as the Fortuner and Hilux, has been refreshed externally, and the range of versions has been expanded with rich trim levels. The key markets for the novelty will be the countries of Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America.
Restyling brought new bumpers, a radiator grille and LED optics to the Toyota Innova minivan, although the amount of modifications is less than that of the “related” Fortuner and Hilux. For the most equipped monocabs, 17-inch wheels can be ordered. In Vietnam, Innova got a version with a practical plastic body kit around the body.
The interior of the basic minivans has not fundamentally changed, but new finishing materials have been added, and the list of standard options has expanded – there are parking sensors, air conditioning, a rear-view camera and a multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen.
In Indonesia, the range was expanded with six-seater top versions of Luxury – such Innova received a 9-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment complex, climate control, a touchscreen monitor for second-row passengers, contour lighting, as well as side airbags and curtain airbags. The salon is sheathed in artificial leather, the panels are decorated with wood-like inserts.
Technically, the Toyota Innova family has not changed: at the heart of the frame chassis with a continuous rear axle, under the hood, naturally aspirated gasoline engines 1TR-FE 2.0 or 2TR-FE 2.7, as well as 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV turbodiesels or 1GD-FTV (2.8 liters). Transmission – 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox, drive – to the rear axle. The ground clearance of the minivan is 178 millimeters.
In Indonesia, prices for Toyota Innova start at 337 million rupees, in Vietnam, a minivan costs from 750 million to 1 billion dong. Versions for different markets differ slightly in appearance and equipment.
