Toyota unveils TRD off-road trailer for Tacoma pickup truckNovember 3, 2020
The Japanese automaker has introduced a special trailer for its Tacoma pickup truck, which has been designated the TRD Sport Trailer. The novelty is based on the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road cargo platform.
This year’s SEMA tuning show will not be like its predecessors. Due to the obvious social constraints due to the coronavirus, the event will not be held in a traditional format with thousands of real visitors. Instead, this year it transforms into what is called SEMA360, an all-digital show.
As a permanent exhibitor, Toyota has no plans to refuse to participate in the exhibition in its new format.
The Japanese manufacturer has just unveiled several concepts that it will be showcasing at SEMA360.
Judging by the published teaser video, the Japanese want to show us not a vehicle, but a trailer. Dubbed the TRD Sport Trailer, it is based on the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road cargo platform and “could be anything from a cargo trailer to a ground trailer,” said Bob Kupina, senior program manager at Toyota.
We do not have all the information about the new product yet, but this trailer will be equipped with many things for car lovers. These include a Yamaha generator, fridge-freezer, sink, kitchenette, and more. There is also ample space for bicycles, kayaks and other camping and hiking equipment. The best part is that all modifications were carried out by Toyota’s team of engineers and mechanics, and it is safe to assume that they are all made to Toyota’s high quality standards.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the “hydrogen sedan” Toyota Mirai 2021 was declassified before the presentation. Several videos have appeared on YouTube, which show in all details the updated “hydrogen sedan” Toyota Mirai 2021. The official presentation of the novelty is scheduled for December this year.
