The presentation took place at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, the car will go on sale next summer. Toyota says the RAV4 Prime is the most economical, powerful, and fastest RAV4 in the history of the model.
They took the usual hybrid version of the RAV4 Hybrid as the basis, but significantly revised the power plant, replacing electric motors in it. The 2.5-liter gasoline engine is also modified: it develops 176 hp. power and 228 Nm of torque. All RAV4 Prime – all-wheel drive. A separate electric motor is responsible for creating torque for the rear axle. Toyota does not name its characteristics, but the total power of the RAV4 Prime power plant is 302 hp. (225 kW). It is at 83 bhp. more than the RAV4 Hybrid. The fastest RAV4 accelerates to 100 km / h in just 5.8 s, according to the manufacturer.
The range of electric mileage without recharging the lithium-ion battery pack is 63 km. Toyota claims that no hybrid crossover on the market has such characteristics. The estimated fuel consumption is, according to the manufacturer, 2.6 l / 100 km.
The versatility of the RAV4 Prime is said to have not been affected, as the battery pack is positioned in such a way that it does not limit space in the cabin and does not take up the boot volume.
RAV4 Prime will be offered in only two trim levels – XE and XSE. The first is characterized by its own radiator grill, 18-inch wheels. The second – a two-color paint scheme, 19-inch wheels, and other LED running lights. You can install the Weather & Moonroof package, which includes a sunroof, heated steering wheel and rear seats.
The cost of the Toyota RAV4 Prime will be announced later.
