Toyota teases Urban Cruiser crossover ahead of its imminent debutAugust 20, 2020
The Indian division of Toyota shares a teaser for the future car . In this image, the new cross shows off the front end.
Local dealers of the Japanese brand will start placing orders for SUVs on August 21. This period indicates the imminent premiere of the Toyota Urban Cruiser. Recall that the new cross is based on the Suzuki Brezza model.
The SUV differs from the “donor” by a redesigned front part, a modified stern, a different interior and a list of equipment. In the released teaser image, we see the overall radiator grille, as well as part of the niche with “fog lights”. This is enough to draw parallels with the Toyota Fortuner. Most likely, it was on this model that the designers were guided.
Under the hood, the Urban Cruiser will house a 105-horsepower gasoline engine with a liter and a half, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission. The power plant of the new cross was borrowed from Brezza. True, it was not without modernization: the novelty additionally receives a 48-volt starter-generator (mild hybrid).
You can book a Toyota Urban Cruiser right now – dealers practice unofficial pre-orders. The size of the deposit reaches 21 thousand rupees. There is no information on price lists yet. According to preliminary data, the minimum price tag will be set at 800,000 rupees.
The crossover will reach Indian showrooms early next month.
In the meantime, Jeep has shown a very patriotic teaser for the Wagoneer 2022 SUV. The new item will be based on the RAM 1500 pickup. It is already known that the car will be high-tech and stylish, and will also receive a luxurious interior.
