Toyota Supra sports car can get manual transmissionJuly 31, 2020
As reported on Thursday, July 30, the Car & Driver portal, the Toyota Supra sports car was taken for testing with a manual transmission. At the same time, it is not known with which engine it will work together.
Two possible scenarios are predicted. First, the Supra-related BMW Z4 Roadster is available on the European market with a manual gearbox in a complete set with a standard 2.0-liter turbo engine.
Toyota has this 258-horsepower engine not so long ago, so it is possible that a 3-pedal variation will be offered by the next model year.
According to the second assumption, the Japanese coupe could be produced with more than 500-horsepower engines from the next generation BMW M3 and M4.
It should be emphasized that the main gearbox for the M3 / M4 will be an 8-speed automatic transmission, however, an optional classic manual transmission can also be offered. Which also indicates her possible appearance on the new Supra.
In addition, it has recently become known that the Toyota RAV4 crossover has become a Japanese brand’s bestseller in the world. Thus, its global sales reached 426,000 units. Most of all, this Japanese model was purchased by residents of the United States and China.
