Toyota Shows Camry in TRD SportivoApril 4, 2019
Most of the improvements – cosmetic or enhancing comfort. The demonstration took place at the Bangkok Motor Show, where the exhibition sample was equipped with a complete set of TRD line items for the Camry.
The current generation Toyota Camry is already offered on all the traditional markets for this model and is preparing to develop new ones, incl. European. Despite the high prevalence, not all markets where there is a Camry, the Japanese company offers a line for tuning and styling from TRD. Traditionally, these packages are available in Asia, and this is confirmed by the Camry TRD Sportivo show in Thailand. It is noteworthy that they started selling the new Camry there in October last year, but the version of the TRD Sportivo is being demonstrated only now.
External differences are easy to see: modified bumpers, door sills, spoiler on the trunk lid. All these elements are made without unnecessary “aggression” and are designed, perhaps, to more emphasize the elegance of the sedan. Perhaps this is also true because there are no real road performance improvements for the TRD Sportivo, in comparison with the conventional Camry. The only exception is the new 18-inch light-alloy wheels with low-profile tires.
Among the additions that are invisible to the naked eye are decorative lights with the doors open, additional pneumatic lumbar support on the driver’s seat, remote trunk opening without hands, and minor modifications in the cabin.
In Thailand, Toyota Camry is offered with a 2.0-and 2.5-liter gasoline engines, as well as with a combined power plant based on a 2.5-liter engine.
