The Tokyo Motor Show premiered the Toyota GR Supra Super GT racing prototype. The serial version of “Supra” debuts later on the motor show in Detroit
Toyota has introduced another racing concept car based on the revived Supra sport coupe. The premiere of the new item called GR Supra Super GT was held at the Tokyo Motor Show.
With this prototype, Toyota is hinting that a special version of the new Supra will take part in the Super GT racing series, where it will replace the Lexus LC sports version. In addition, the concept car gives an idea of the production model, which debuts next week at the Detroit Motor Show.
According to preliminary data, the new Toyota Supra will be equipped with a three-liter six-cylinder engine with two turbines, which already comes with a third-generation BMW Z4 sports car. On the European version of the model with the index Z4 M40i, this engine develops 340 liters. with. and 500 Nm of torque. It is assumed that the coupe can accelerate from the spot to the first 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
In the future, the Supra will have a modification with a two-liter engine with a power of about 260 horsepower. All engines will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission or with an eight-sped automatic ZF.
