Toyota recalls 256,000 cars in ChinaApril 18, 2020
Toyota Corporation of Japan announces a recall campaign in China, which affects 256,000 locally-built cars and imported models, due to problems in the functioning of the fuel supply system. Such information on Saturday, April 18, shared with the State Administration for Regulation of the Chinese market.
As emphasized on the structure’s web portal, the defect was detected in almost 60 thousand imported Lexus cars from abroad, and also in about 200 thousand Camry, Coaster, Corona, Highlander, Land Cruiser and Prado, released at four corporations in such corporations cities of China such as Guangzhou, Tianjin, Changchun and Chengdu. All defective cars were produced in the period from 2013 to 2019.
Reportedly, a defect in the low-pressure fuel pump can cause the power unit to function inappropriately, which could endanger the safety of the motorist and passengers.
The owners of all recallable cars in 2020 have the opportunity to visit the company’s dealer centers in China in order to conduct free diagnostics and repair work. The Corporation, in particular, announced its readiness to replace the fuel pumps of the vehicles being withdrawn.
