Toyota Raize compact SUV: the first photosOctober 28, 2019
The new compact Toyota SUV Raize will receive a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Sales will begin soon, but only in India. In fact – this is a turned Daihatsu Rocky.
Toyota is preparing to launch a new compact and cheap crossover. Sales may begin as early as next month. Now the first Toyota Raize images are online. Judging by them, the crossover will get a lot in common with the design recently introduced in Tokyo, Daihatsu Rocky.
Despite the fact that the models are very similar, and built on a single base, Toyota Raize will receive many unique design solutions. The most noticeable will be a branded trapezoidal grille with a mesh insert, a “frowned” front optics, as well as a massive bumper. In fact, the company is preparing a kind of mini-RAV4.
It is expected that the dimensions of the crossover will fall under the Indian tax standard and will be similar to Rocky: length – 3,995 mm, width – 1,620 mm, height – 1,695 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,525 mm. A 1.0-liter engine will also be installed under the hood, also set under local tax breaks. The power of a three-cylinder turbo engine will be 98 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque. Paired with it will be a variator or manual gearbox in five steps.
It is worth noting that the subcompact crossover will also receive an all-wheel drive version, but only front-wheel drive will be offered in the database. The cost is still unknown.
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor has announced the deployment of Toyota Share in Japan, a car sharing service provided by Toyota dealers and rental and leasing subsidiaries.
