Toyota plans to launch new GT86 and BRZFebruary 5, 2020
Japanese brands Toyota and Subaru will jointly develop the next-generation GT86 and BRZ. The relevant agreement has already been concluded.
Toyota and Subaru have one more business agreement: the companies will join forces and present the new and second generation GT86 and BRZ sports. Specifications of new products are kept secret. The only thing that Toyota paid attention to is that both cars will receive a rear-wheel drive system. Brands have to develop cars from scratch: the developers refused the idea to modernize current cars.
The current GT86 and BRZ have been on sale since 2012. Given that the average production cycle of a car varies from 7 to 8 years, the release of new models should take place by the end of this year.
The signed agreement, among other things, helped Toyota “increase” its stake in Subaru by 3.17% – up to 20 percent. According to experts, the new deal on GT86 and BRZ will positively affect the future partnership of automakers. The companies themselves, aiming at a long and productive cooperation, agree with these.
