Land Cruiser Namib with reinforced suspension and a refrigerated glove box was offered to customers by the South African division of Toyota. We are talking about the modernized Land Cruiser 70 Series pickup truck, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
In South Africa, you can purchase a special version of the Land Cruiser 79 pickup truck called the Namib, which was created for driving on rough terrain. The novelty received its name in honor of the coastal desert of Namib in southwestern Africa. Such a Toyota Land Cruiser got a mesh grille, power bumpers with a front and rear tow bar, as well as additional lighting, a snorkel, 16-inch wheels with off-road tires and a cargo compartment with a protective coating.
Inside the car there were seat covers for seats made of wear-resistant fabric, modern multimedia with a touchscreen and navigation, LED lights, a glove box with cooling, as well as additional compartments for storing things. The suspension was strengthened and raised.
Under the hood of the Namib special version is a 4.5-liter 205-horsepower turbodiesel, combined with 5-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive connected. In addition, the off-road pickup gets differential locks of the front and rear axles. In South Africa for the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Namib will have to lay out 893,600 South African rand. For comparison, a standard two-door pickup truck with a 231-horsepower gasoline V6 for four liters is much cheaper – from 576,200 rand
