Toyota Land Cruiser 300 rival to appear among Hyundai modelsNovember 2, 2020
The Korean carmaker is not afraid to pit its new models against other big-name bestsellers. Thus, the Hyundai i30 N competed with dignity against the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and the commercial Hyundai iLoad van stood on a par with the Toyota HiAce. Now the Koreans are working on an equally competitive SUV.
A model will appear in the Hyundai lineup that can become a serious competitor for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. CarsGuide writes about this with reference to Andrew Tuitahi, general manager of the Australian model line of the brand.
According to him, such a full-size frame SUV could well become a global model. True, before this the automaker will have to solve a number of problems: bringing such a model to the market is a troublesome business.
In general, Koreans are closely following the latest automotive trends in order to quickly respond to customer requests. So if quite specific prospects are outlined in a certain niche, then the company will accelerate work in this direction.
As for the new “frame” Toyota Land Cruiser 300, its debut is scheduled for next fall. Tentatively, this will happen in September.
The novelty from Hyundai will get a frame-type chassis and a 278-horsepower turbodiesel, familiar to fans of the brand from the premium Genesis GV80 model. There is no information about the timing of the release of the new item.
Previously, AutoTimesNews said that Hyundai has developed the smallest electric car. The battery “baby” borrowed its design from the show car “45”, which debuted last year at the motor show in Frankfurt.
