Toyota is preparing a budget “replacement” CH-R due to low demandFebruary 26, 2019
Despite the fact that the crossover segment is currently the most active with the highest growth in sales and model line, not every model gets a call from buyers. The same happened with the compact crossover, the price tag of which does not match the market.
As experts noted, the compact crossover segment is very extensive, and each company is trying to “get into” it with its models. Some succeed, for example: Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke. But the company Toyota “flew” with its pretty model CH-R. Sales are quite modest for the auto giant of the international market, and if Europe still buys a model, then the Asian market is completely cold to it.
This prompted the company to develop a new model developed on a similar TNGA-C platform, but with a more affordable price tag, interesting design, and a more practical body. According to the company – it will help gain popularity in Asia, and then in other markets.
At the moment, the Toyota CH-R is a car for those who “have money.” It is possible that in the future an affordable model with some design changes will be released under the Daihatsu brand.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed information about the upcoming new product. However, its appearance can not wait until 2020, or even 2021.
