Toyota introduced the new Corolla Touring SportsSeptember 4, 2018
The public debut of the new 2019 Toyota Corolla Touring Sports will be held at the Paris Motor Show
The company Toyota introduced the station wagon Corolla Touring Sports of the new generation. In the European market, the model will replace the Auris Touring Sports. Like the hatchback, the car is built on the GA-C platform, and its engine range consists of a gasoline turbo engine and two hybrid powerplants.
The Toyota Corolla Touring Sports wagon is built using the TNGA modular architecture. Macpherson struts are installed in front, and a newly designed multi-link suspension is at the rear. For the first time, an adaptive suspension (AVS) is available for the Corolla. The wheelbase of the model reaches 2700 millimeters. This is 60 and 100 millimeters more than the hatchback and the former Auris wagon. According to this indicator the novelty is now close to “Octavia Combi”.
Compared with the previous generation car, the new station wagon has a lower center of gravity. This is achieved by changing the location of the engine mounts, the height of the seats and the placement of the battery under the rear row of seats.
According to the manufacturer, with a wheelbase of 2,700 millimeters Corolla Touring Sports has “the largest in the classroom space for the feet of the rear passengers.” The capacity of the luggage compartment of the station wagon is 598 liters (in Auris Touring Sports this figure was more modest – 507 liters).
European buyers of Toyota Corolla Touring Sports will be offered with a petrol turbo engine in volume of 1,2 liters and capacity of 116 horsepowers, and also hybrid units on the basis of engines 1.8 and 2.0. The yield is 122 and 180, respectively.
The equipment list includes a projection display, premium JBL audio system, wireless charging for smartphones.
The new Toyota Corolla Touring Sports debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
