Toyota introduced another version of the Supra TRD sports coupeFebruary 9, 2019
Under the hood, the new version of the Toyota Supra from the Toyota Racing Development sports division will not have any changes, at least for now.
More than three weeks passed after the official presentation of the new generation of the Japanese legend, the Supra sports coupe (index A90), and exactly three weeks after the first production copy was sold at auction for 2.1 million dollars. Toyota Racing Development – a special division of the automaker introduced the concept of GR Supra Performance Line Concept TRD.
As promised in the teaser, released last week, the concept was officially presented online today.
The new Supra TRD concept provides future Supra owners with a clear idea of how they can upgrade their sports cars with additional options from Toyota Racing Development’s “court tuning studio”. It is reported that the engine has not received any changes. However, even without upgrading the engine, the car received improved dynamic performance through the use of lightweight and durable carbon fiber parts.
In front of the new product there is a spoiler with huge ribs to increase downforce (a rear spoiler is also installed for this task) and to reduce lift during high-speed runs. The same applies to the side “skirts”, which are quite low. Some work was also done on the compartment doors, which made it possible to reduce the influence of airflow turbulence and create a smoother airflow to the rear of the compartment.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Toyota RAV4 compact crossover had finally “grown up” to an SUV – a new version is presented.
