Toyota installed in engines of American Camry pistons of another sizeMarch 31, 2018
The Japanese company will recall the sedans in the US and completely replace them with engines due to the use of larger pistons
The company Toyota announced the recall of new generation Camry sedans in the US due to the installation of larger pistons in the engines than required. This is reported by the publication Carscoops.
In total, 1730 sedans of the 2018 model year will be repaired. A malfunction may result in uneven engine operation, smoke and soot emission in the exhaust system, as well as “abnormal” motor sound. In some cases, the defect can cause a decrease in motor performance and its shutdown.
As part of the recall campaign, the manufacturer will check the cars for non-standard components and, if found, will replace the power unit completely.
