Toyota has prepared a number of updates for the Avalon sedan
The novelty has received a new special version of the Nightshade Edition, which is based on the XSE configuration, which already has black exterior mirror housings, as well as a radiator grille and a rear spoiler in a similar shade.
At the same time, the Nightshade Edition additionally provides tinted glass, black door handles and an antenna on the roof in the form of a “shark fin”. In addition, the new special edition comes with 19-inch alloy wheels with a black finish.
One of the main innovations was the appearance of all-wheel drive, which is available as an option for the XLE version and limited trim levels. The all-wheel-drive system can transfer 50% of the torque to the rear wheels, while the Japanese manufacturer promises that it will provide effective traction when needed.
The updated Avalon is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 205 hp. and 251 Nm of torque. Together with the engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission functions.
In turn, for customers looking for more power, there is the Avalon TRD. The model has a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 301 hp. and 362 Nm of torque. In addition, the car is equipped with a dual exhaust system, a lowered sports suspension and powerful brakes. For the TRD variation, in particular, an aerodynamic kit is offered, consisting of a front splitter, sporty side skirts and a rear diffuser.
As for the hybrid Avalon, it received a new lithium-ion battery and a pedestrian warning system at low speeds. The hybrid powertrain of the car includes a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter engine and two electric motors. The total power of the unit is 215 hp.
After updating the Avalon, in particular, its color scheme has been replenished, and the list of available interior trim options has expanded. The novelty also acquired support for Android Auto and USB-C ports, which replaced USB-A.
