Toyota has developed a new platform for compact carsSeptember 5, 2019
The new modular architecture is called GA-B. With it, you can create compact models with different body types that can boast great driving comfort.
Toyota is preparing the premiere of a new generation of Yaris, which it promises to present next year. A new platform, called GA-B, also debuts on this model. It is considered to be derived from the “cart” TNGA, which is based on European Toyota models, including the Prius, Corolla, Camry and RAV4. The new platform allows you to adjust the wheelbase, width and height, assuming that the Japanese brand Toyota will sooner or later expand the range of compact cars.
Among the advantages of the new GA-B platform is the ability to adapt to various suspension schemes, among which, in particular, are called multi-link.
Also, working on the new architecture, Toyota engineers decided to lower the center of gravity of the car, which guarantees a more attractive driving position. It is also noted that with the new platform, the brand will have more opportunities to create machines with a low height and a wide stand.
