Toyota GT86 made similar to the racing cars “24 Hours of Le Mans”June 8, 2018
The British division of Toyota in honor of the 86th race “24 Hours of Le Mans” has prepared three special modifications of the model GT86. All cars are dedicated to the famous lemanian cars of the Japanese brand.
The first car from the special series – white and blue GT86 – is made in the style of the sports prototype Toyota TS010 of the 1992 model. The racing car was equipped with a ten-cylinder petrol engine in volume of 3,5 liters, giving out about 700 horsepowers.
The second novelty – with a red and white coloration – is made similar to the car TS020, also known as the Toyota GT-One. It had a structure of carbon and aluminum, was equipped with a twin-turbo eight with a volume of 3.6 liters and twice ranked first at Le Mans in its class.
The third car is built in the style of the hybrid sport prototype Toyota TS050, which performed at the “24 Hours of Le Mans” two years ago. This machine received a power plant with a total capacity of 1000 horsepower. It had a 2.4-liter 500-hp twin-turbo V6, electric motors on the front and rear axle, and a block of lithium-ion batteries.
At the “Le Mans” in 2016 sports prototype Toyota TS050 was remembered by the fact that for a long time holding the leadership in the race, went off the race on the penultimate circle due to a defect in the connection of the turbine and intercooler. Then the team lost to the Porsche team.
Special versions of the GT86 coupe received, in addition to new body colors, an underestimated suspension of 40 millimeters, additional body kit, a new Milltek Sport edition and wheels made in the same design as the original sports prototypes.
Machines are built in a single copy and will not be produced serially.
