Toyota first showed the “charged” Yaris GT in the videoDecember 4, 2019
In a short video, we were shown a camouflaged hatchback, but the main emphasis was on the exhaust sound. The debut was supposed to take place on November 14, but was postponed. A new date will be announced very soon.
Toyota’s press office has published a new teaser for the “charged” Yaris GT. For the first time, the video appeared on the official page of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. In the postscript to the teaser, it was added that the hatchback is passing the final tests and is ready for the official debut.
Earlier, the company was going to present its new product as part of the Australian rally, which was held from November 14 to 17. Due to fires, the debut had to be postponed, but now the date is still unknown. However, the sale should begin next year. Moreover, Toyota Yaris GT will be released as a civilian vehicle with access to common roads.
Unfortunately, the brand has not yet revealed details about its new product. It is known that a 1.6-liter turbo engine with unknown power will be used as a power unit. However, the model will fully comply with the requirements of the class WRC R5 and All Japan Rally Championship.
The cost and details of the Toyota Yaris GT should be revealed by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the reasons for the hype around Toyota Rush and Mitsubishi Xpander are identified. Currently, compact crossovers and roomy family minivans are gaining popularity.
