Toyota has confirmed information about the release of the new Urban Cruiser crossover this summer. Details about the novelty on Thursday, May 14, shared the publication Autocar India. The current generation will be the second for the model – the first was sold between 2009 and 2014 and was called Toyota Ist.
The new Urban Cruiser will be built on the basis of the bestseller Suzuki Vitara Brezza – this information has already been confirmed by the Indian division of Maruti Suzuki. The dimensions of the new crossover will be 3995x1790x1640 mm with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
It will be possible to distinguish a car from the current Vitara Brezza only externally – the distinguished features will be a modified radiator grill, as well as other bumpers and the Toyota logo front and rear.
Technical stuffing will completely switch from Suzuki Vitara Brezza. As a motor, a 1.5-liter engine with a return of 105 hp is used, which is supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator. As a transmission, customers can choose a 5MKPP or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the new product has not yet been announced. Note that the cost of the Suzuki Vitara Brezza is from 767,000 to 1,042,000 rupees. However, Toyota Urban Cruiser is known to be more expensive.
