The company Toyota intends to produce a luxury yacht under the Lexus brand. Sales of new items will begin in 2019. This was announced by the executive vice-president of the company Shigeki Tomoyama within the framework of the Japan International Exhibition of Boats and Yachts.
The development of the yacht will deal with the marine division of Toyota and shipbuilding company Marquis-Larson Boat Group. Presumably, it will be a boat with an open area on the roof of the wheel house and a luxurious cabin on the lower deck, capable of seating up to 15 guests. The concept of the Lexus Sport Yacht, presented in Miami in January 2017, will be used as the basis of the new yacht.
Lexus Sport Yacht is a 13-meter sports cruiser, the body of which is made of carbon fiber fabric, made by vacuum infusion with a two-component polyurethane resin. The power plant uses a pair of modernized five-liter eight-cylinder engine from the LC 500 sport coupe with a total capacity of 897 horsepower. Lexus Sport Yacht is equipped with a high-end multimedia system and is able to accommodate up to eight passengers. The interior decoration of the yacht uses leather and wood.
In the spring of 2016, the Mercedes-Benz Industrial Design Division – Mercedes-Benz Style – introduced the Arrow460-Granturismo motor yacht. The 14-meter boat was equipped with two diesel engines with a total capacity of 960 horsepower.
