Toyota Century with a long wheelbase and low ground clearance

A video appeared on a foreign YouTube channel showing the first generation Japanese sedan Toyota Century. This version of the car has a longer wheelbase, as well as a custom exhaust system and air suspension.

Toyota Century can rightfully be considered one of the most interesting sedans that the Japanese automotive industry has given us. It has existed since the 1960s, but only ardent fans of the brand have heard of it. Why is this so? Because the stately sedan has always been sold only in the Japanese car market, and even there it is quite rare. Only a few high-ranking officials have it, as well as members of the Imperial House of Japan and some local authorities.

While the second generation of the model is better known around the world for its V12 engine, the first Century also has something to surprise.

This article introduces a rare extended wheelbase sedan that appeared towards the end of the life cycle of the first generation Toyota Century, between 1990 and 1997.

Codenamed VG45, this version of the model was 5,270 mm long and had a wheelbase of 3,010 mm. This particular car belongs to YouTuber John Ludwick, and has made several changes, including a custom exhaust system and air suspension, to reduce the car’s ride height.

The video posted that captured this car talks mostly about the exterior, but there are several scenes that show the car’s luxurious interior, including at 3:14, where you can see the built-in electric shaver.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Toyota Land Cruiser can get a high-performance version of the GR. Toyota may expand its GR lineup to include a new Land Cruiser SUV.
