Toyota announced the anniversary version of the hybrid sedan PriusApril 30, 2020
The Japanese brand announced that by July this year, mass production of a special version of the Toyota Prius 2021 model year will begin. The new edition will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the hybrid car in the US car market.
Thanks to the Toyota Prius, which was introduced in December 1997, the Japanese brand began its dominance in the hybrid car segment. In fact, since that fateful day, the brand has sold more than 15 million cars with hybrid powertrains, which emitted 120 million tons of CO2 less than gasoline counterparts.
In the United States, the Prius was introduced in 2001. To celebrate this event, Toyota launches the anniversary version of the 2021 model year hybrid sedan, which is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the car in the car market of this country.
Information about the anniversary version of the hybrid Prius is currently a bit scarce, but still some details are already known to us. For example, the novelty will receive one of the highest prices for the Prius. The car will come in two non-exclusive colors: Supersonic Red and Wind Chill Pearl – the latter is intended to replace the current Blizzard Pearl. The Prius 20th Anniversary Edition will only come with a black Softex interior. Fuel consumption figures for the upcoming news have not been disclosed.
Serial production of a special version of the Prius will begin by July this year, but do not be surprised if the start of sales may well be postponed due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
