Toyota and Suzuki will join forces to create new carsMarch 21, 2019
At the moment, it is known that both Japanese brands will be engaged in joint development of cars of the compact segment, as well as new small-capacity power units for them.
Back in 2017, Suzuki Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Company announced the conclusion of a business cooperation agreement. But only two years later, some details became known, and judging by the information disclosed, the work has already begun. As part of this cooperation, companies will begin to develop in the international market.
Suzuki will share with Toyota its technology in the development of subcompact engines, as well as compact platforms on the example of Indian models Ciaz and Ertiga. It is assumed that the new models will be produced at the Polish factory Toyota. In turn, Toyota will share technologies in the field of electrification and hybridization of cars. Thus, allowing Suzuki to release two new hybrid and all-electric models based on the RAV4 and Corolla Wagon models.
Large details of the company have not yet unveiled. It can be expected that the first results of cooperation will appear already in 2020, but the show may take place before the end of this year.
