Toyota and Subaru are developing a joint platform for electric vehiclesJune 6, 2019
It is reported that the very first model, which will be the fruit of the joint efforts of the two companies, will be a crossover.
Just a couple of hours ago, on June 6, the heads of the two largest companies, Subaru and Toyota, made an official statement, which refers to the creation of the newest platform, which will form the basis for the creation of medium and full-size auto models. In addition, as part of their cooperation, companies will create a class C crossover, which will be sold under both brands.
It is curious that the joint development will be as productive as possible due to the effective division of labor. So, each company will develop exclusively those systems that they get the best: Subaru will undertake the creation of an all-wheel drive system, in turn, Toyota will begin to develop electrification technology. Thus, companies strive to make cooperation as fast and efficient as possible, saving it from additional costs.
There is no more specific information about cooperation at the moment, because the companies decided not to disclose the additional nuances of their partnership ahead of time.
Meanwhile, Renault unveiled a new version of the Renault Koleos to the public. Sales of new items will start in October 2019.
