Toyota adds security system and Apple CarPlay for PriusSeptember 13, 2019
Toyota has decided to conduct a small update for its Prius hybrid, preparing it for the 2020 model year. Already in the database, the car will receive a 7-inch multimedia display, as well as Toyota Safety Connect.
Toyota Prius 2020 model year will receive a small update. It will affect only the list of standard equipment for some trim levels. The most important change will be the new security options for the basic version. The model will continue to be offered in four trim levels: L Eco, LE, XLE and Limited. Also in the list of options will remain an all-wheel drive system.
Already in the initial version, the Toyota Safety Connect safety package will be available, which includes an emergency call button, a search for a stolen car, roadside assistance, and an automatic call system for rescuers in case of an accident. Subscription to these services is paid, but now for new customers it will be provided free of charge for a period of three years.
In addition, the company will update multimedia, which will receive six speakers, an AUX connector, three USB connectors, a modified speakerphone system, Apple CarPlay, Siri Eyes Free and the ability to connect a camera.
Whether the cost per model will change is still unknown. Unfortunately, all offers are relevant only for the American market.
Meanwhile, the new Toyota RAV4 failures “MooseTest”. According to the Swedish magazine Teknikens Värld, the car is not safe and should not be bought until the problems are fixed.
