One of the users of Reddit drew attention to the photos of the new electric car Volkswagen ID.6, published in the database of the Ministry of Industry of China. The leak revealed some details about the model: the length, width and height of the serial ID.6 are 4876, 1848 and 1680 millimeters, respectively, the wheelbase is 2965 millimeters. For comparison: the dimensions of the Volkswagen Touareg are 4878x1984x1717 mm. The version for the Chinese market will be equipped with a 204 horsepower (150 kilowatt) electric motor powered by a 70 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. On a single charge, such a crossover can travel up to 450 kilometers.

The “commercial” version has a number of differences from the ID concept. Roomzz. For example, the doors on ID.6, judging by the photos, are standard, while the concept had four sliding doors. In addition, the Chinese version has a different front end, and the front optics have a more elongated shape. The three-row salon is designed for seven people.

The global model will premiere in the spring of 2021 and China will be the first country to start selling locally assembled ID.6s. Then the electric car will appear in Europe and the USA.

In September, Volkswagen introduced the ID.4, an electric crossover with a range of up to 520 kilometers. The model is announced in two versions: with one motor and rear-wheel drive, and with two – one on each axle. The rear-wheel drive ID.4 has three engines to choose from with a capacity of 148, 175 and 204 hp, and the all-wheel drive – a twin-engine unit with a capacity of 306 hp. The assembly will be carried out at a plant in Zwickau, Germany, where the “junior” hatchback ID.3 is already being assembled.
