In Latin America, a truck with a monocoque body will be sold under the Ram brand. From the original Fiat, this model differs only in emblems.

Fiat Toro debuted back in 2016, its production is established in Brazilian Goian. When the pickup was launched, it was reported that it was intended for the South American region as a whole, but the model had not yet been selected outside of Brazil and neighboring Argentina. But it is about Fiat: Toro will still master new markets, but under a different brand – in Latin American countries it will be sold as Ram 1000.

The Ram pickup is already declassified – last year it was shown at the Colombia Motor Show. Then the concern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which includes the Italian and American brands, did not report where the Toro twin would appear. Now these markets are voiced. So, besides Colombia, the Ram 1000 will also be offered in Costa Rica, Panama and Chile. In all of these countries, the pickup is announced in the form of pictures on local sites, sales should begin soon. Will produce cars in Brazil, in the same company where they make Fiat Toro. Later, the list of markets will certainly expand.

From the original Toro pickup Ram 1000 differs only in emblems. At the heart of the twins is a stretched version of the platform Small US Wide 4×4 – on this platform are also based crossovers Jeep Renegade and Compass. The Fiat Toro / Ram 1000 monocoque, transversely mounted engine and independent rear suspension. Length – 4915 mm, wheelbase – 2990 mm.

In Brazilian Toro, the engine can still work on ethanol, in this case, the return is 139 hp. (petrol Toro power – 135 hp). At the beginning of next year, the Ram 1000 should have a MultiJet II 2.0 turbodiesel (170 hp), it comes with a 6MKP or 9AKP from ZF, a full drive is provided for the diesel truck.

In Brazil, Toro also has a Tigershark 2.4 (174 hp on petrol and 186 hp on ethanol), but this engine will probably not be exported to the Ram. The load capacity of the gasoline Fiat Toro / Ram 1000 is 650 kg, the diesel load is one ton.
