Top Gear’s Stig racer shows what the Lamborghini Urus is capable ofOctober 26, 2020
As part of the next issue of the Top Gear car show, the famous racer Stig decided to show what the Italian crossover Lamborghini Urus is capable of on the race track. I must say that the car, like its current driver, proved to be just perfect.
The Lamborghini Urus is one of the most impressive crossover SUVs on the planet, combining audacious looks and enormous Lamborghini performance in a practical crossover body. As part of their recent video, the guys from the Top Gear show decided to entrust the Lamborghini Urus in the hands of the Stig rider in order to show what the crossover is capable of.
The Italian Lamborghini Urus is based on the modular MLB Evo platform.
Under the hood is a powerful 4.0-liter V8 FSI twin-turbo engine, which is used in many Porsche, Audi and Bentley models. In the Urus, buyers get the wicked version of the engine, delivering an impressive 641 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The maximum speed is 305 km / h, and the acceleration to 100 km / h takes just 3.6 seconds, with a total weight of the crossover of 2,200 kg.
Urus is called a super crossover for a reason, the car is equipped with everything necessary for those who are going not only to use the crossover for “civilian” purposes, but also to drive it well. The car has specially made 17-inch carbon-ceramic brakes that are supposed to stop the huge 23-inch wheels. The automaker’s engineers re-tuned the suspension, transmission and all-wheel drive system of the car, so that the crossover had a more athletic behavior.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and Huracan Performante were brought to drag. The authors of the Carwow YouTube channel on Saturday, October 3, organized a race between the flagship variations of Lamborghini – the Aventador SVJ 63 coupe and the Huracan Performante Spyder roadster.
