The Swiss International Automobile Salon is one of the most important automotive events of the year. Despite the decline in popularity of such events, the next exhibition is preparing a lot of surprises and new products.

In Europe, the three most significant car dealerships in the world are held: Geneva, Frankfurt and Paris. But the motor show in Switzerland is considered one of the most prestigious. Therefore, most of the new products at the beginning of the year are demonstrated on it. Our edition AutoTimesNews decided to look into the future and present the five most anticipated presentations of the Geneva Motor Show.

 1. Volkswagen Tiguan


Undoubtedly, the most anticipated novelty was the new version of the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover. The appearance of the car 2020 model year is no longer a secret. Eyewitnesses “leaked” to the Network photos from the venue of the advertising photo shoot.

 The restyled version will become more modern, although the silhouette and glazing line will remain unchanged. The main noticeable difference will be the head optics in the style of the Volkswagen Golf. In addition, Tiguan will receive a new grille, a revised design of the front and rear bumpers, a new light pattern of the rear optics, a redesigned list of additional options and several changes in the cabin.

 The model will change technically. The motor line will be replenished with hybrids, and new electronics will be installed in the cabin.

 2. BMW i4 – all-electric sedan

BMW has been teasing its fans with new i4 photos for months. But at the Geneva Motor Show, the Bavarians will finally show their all-electric novelty. While there are rumors that the concept’s debut may take place as a camouflaged prototype close to the production version. This has not yet been officially confirmed.

 The BMW i4 is an all-electric sedan built on a new modular platform. The power plant will receive a power of 530 horsepower, which will allow it to accelerate to “hundreds” in just 4 seconds. Maximum speed will be electronically limited to around 200 km / h.

 A battery of 80 kW * hours will be used as an energy source, which will provide up to 600 km of power reserve at full charge.

 3. Range Rover Evoque PHEV

Another interesting novelty will be the Range Rover Evoque PHEV hybrid crossover. Until recently, it was rumored that a fully electric version would be shown in Geneva. But the company denied this information and replied that hybrid systems are the future, and the current version of Evoque is not ready for complete electrification.

 A 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine capable of developing up to 200 horsepower will be used as a power unit. Paired with it will install an electric motor with a capacity of up to 110 horsepower. According to preliminary information, the new version of the crossover will be able to drive about 70 km only on electric traction.

 4. Mercedes-AMG GT 73

Mercedes-AMG’s super-powerful response to the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be unveiled in Geneva. The new sports car will be equipped with a hybrid installation with a capacity of more than 800 horsepower. The new power plant will make it the most powerful version of the AMG GT in the history of the version, as well as the most powerful four-door coupe on the international market.

 Under the hood, a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is installed, capable of developing up to 805 horsepower while working in tandem with an electric motor. According to preliminary information, acceleration to “hundreds” will take less than 3.0 seconds. The power plant will also allow you to drive up to 50 km / h exclusively on electricity, which will provide unprecedented savings for a car of this class.

 5. Porsche 718 Cayman GTS

Closes our rating today is one of the most interesting entry-level sports cars Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 2020 model year. There are few details so far, but it is already known that the model will receive a 4.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine. The company has already opened the possibility of pre-ordering, but the first deliveries will not begin until March after the official debut in Geneva.

 According to preliminary information, the capacity of the new coupe will be 415 horsepower. Acceleration to “hundreds” will take only 4 seconds, and the maximum speed will be limited to 292 km / h. The 718 GTS 4.0 models feature an active Porsche suspension control system that reduces ground clearance by 20 mm. Also included is a torque vectoring system with a limited slip mechanical differential, a Sport Chrono package with active transmission mounts, and an upgraded Porsche Track Precision app.
