Today officially announced the creation of a global alliance between Volkswagen AG and Ford Motor CompanyJanuary 15, 2019
About such a combination was discussed for a long time. And now it’s done. Companies join forces to increase the competitiveness of their products and accelerate innovation in a rapidly changing automotive world.

Last year, both companies sold approximately 1.2 million light commercial vehicles worldwide. And the new alliance could turn into the largest cooperation in the industry in the next five years.
Ford takes on the design and production of medium-sized trucks for both companies. The first of which is promised in that same 2022. Volkswagen has been entrusted with the design and manufacture of urban delivery vans. And this is the first task of the new alliance.
In addition, VW and Ford have signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of cooperation in the field of autonomous vehicles, mobile activity and electric vehicles. The potential of both companies is already being explored. Other cooperation programs are being developed.
