The specialists of the Porsche Klassik division, which deals with the restoration of vintage models of the German automaker, have presented a completely restored version of the Porsche 944 S2 coupe from the model of 1991.
The Porsche 944 is a rear-wheel drive sports car that was produced by Porsche from 1982 to 1991. The model was produced in coupe and convertible bodies. It is noteworthy that recently, prices for well-preserved copies of this model began to rise significantly.
The division of Porsche Klassik, which is engaged in the restoration of old cars of the company, paid 18,500 euros for this copy of the 944 S2 sample of 1991. Under the hood of the car is a naturally aspirated version of the 3.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 208 horsepower (280 Nm).
This vehicle has some rare features that make it exclusive to Porsche Klassik.
First, the Porsche 944 S2 has fabric seats, a fantastic-looking Blaupunkt stereo system and a separate equalizer dominate the lower center console. There is a car phone nearby. And the special M030 option gives the Koni suspension front and rear adjustable shock absorbers.
The specialists of the German brand completely restored the car to its factory condition – in particular, the car body was repainted in the original color of Cobalt Blue Metallic. The interior has also received a major redesign. The seat supports have been replaced, and the seats have been re-stitched and filled with new filling, so now, according to Porsche Klassik, the seats are as good as new.
The biggest drawback from a technical point of view was the non-working air conditioner, which required a new compressor and fresh refrigerant. In addition, all fluids were changed in the car and a new set of tires was installed.
According to Porsche Klassik, in connection with the purchase and refurbishment, the total amount of this 944 S2 is 33,000 euros
