This race features a 2022 Honda Civic, Mazda3 and Toyota CorollaJune 21, 2021
A video has been posted on the YouTube channel that captures a race in a straight line between a 2022 Honda Civic, a Mazda3 and a Toyota Corolla.
It’s safe to say that the new Honda Civic isn’t for everyone in terms of design. However, we cannot deny that the 11th generation version of the model has improved in terms of power output, albeit marginally. The question is, is the Civic’s improved performance enough to keep up with its competitors in the compact segment?
Of course, we are talking about the Mazda3 and Toyota Corolla. In comparison, this drag race, hosted by the Throttle House YouTube team, features the best versions of front-wheel drive compact sedans.
The Civic Touring 2022 model is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 180 horsepower (240 Nm). It is, of course, mated to a CVT, which Honda claims has been improved over the previous one.
The Mazda3, on the other hand, is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine that develops 186bhp. power and 252 Nm of torque. Although more powerful than the Civic, it also has a relatively sporty torque converter transmission.
It should be noted that the turbocharged Mazda3 was not used in this race because it was driven with an all-wheel drive system, which obviously makes it the undisputed winner of this type of race.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that a drag race was captured between Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, BMW X4 M and Porsche Macan Turbo. On the foreign YouTube channel carwow, a drag race was captured, in which the Italian crossover Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, as well as powerful German counterparts BMW X4 M and Porsche Macan Turbo, took part.
