This Mercedes-AMG E63 S with 788 hp accelerates like a supercarJanuary 24, 2020
Enthusiasts from the YouTube channel AutoTopNL decided to test the most powerful Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Under the hood of the car is a 788-horsepower power plant. We decided to test the capabilities of the car on the German autobahn.
Previously, only the coolest supercars could accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just three seconds, but now even a large and heavy German premium sedan can show such results. Needless to say, this is not an ordinary sedan, since we are dealing with a Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been seriously upgraded.
In its standard form, this eight-cylinder engine produces 603 hp, but the owner of this car wanted even more. It is not known how he managed to get additional power, but the modified E63 S now boasts 788 hp, which is 185 hp. more than before.
In order to test the capabilities of a high-performance sedan, the guys from the YouTube channel AutoTopNL decided to test it on an unlimited speed German autobahn.
On-board GPS data show that the upgraded E63 S took just 3.06 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h from the spot, despite the fact that the road surface seems wet. This makes it nearly 0.4 seconds faster than the standard version of the super-sedan from Mercedes-AMG. Well, up to 200 km / h, the car managed to accelerate in just 9.72 seconds.
Up to a speed of 307 km / h, the modified luxury sedan accelerated without much effort, and probably could have been even more, since the car accelerated to 296 km / h in sixth gear, and there were two more left. This is not so bad for a car that weighs 2,047 kilograms.
