The car was parked in the barn in 1986 and since then it has been standing there for 32 years. Father and son, who discovered the “time capsule”, decided to restore their unexpected find.
It seems that the finds of vintage cars in abandoned sheds, called “time capsules”, have become more and more common lately. People leave cars for quite some time for various reasons, in most cases they are completely forgotten, and the cars themselves are found decades later.
So, the heroes of our article today are father and son, who stumbled upon the cult machine of the last century and decided to pick it up for subsequent restoration. This DeLorean was parked for unknown reasons in the barn for a long 32 years.
Covered with a huge amount of dust, this car is surprisingly well preserved. It turns out that he drove only 48,280 km before he was parked in this barn back in 1986 – the car even has a registration sticker that is attached to his license plate. The door handle was broken, so that it has not been opened since 1986 – I had to use a special vice to open the door.
After finding and then checking the condition of the car for the first time, the father and his son returned for the car a week later with a tow truck. On the day of the “salvation” of the car, it was raining, which washed away a large layer of dust from it.
Designed for the US market, the famous sports car was built by the DeLorean Motor Company. The car is simply called the DeLorean, as it was the only model built by the company from 1981 to 1983. While it had “seagull wings” doors and brushed stainless steel panels, as well as a fiberglass body, the car did not receive its due popularity. Only after the release of the movie “Back to the Future”, the car quickly became famous.
