This Audi A4 has an amazing heat-sensitive paint finishJanuary 31, 2021
The DipYourCar YouTube channel shows the process of applying a special temperature-sensitive paint to the body of an Audi A4. The car body began to look very impressive – with any change in temperature, the paint changes its color.
Modern technology makes it easier than ever to personalize your vehicle. Whether it’s completely repainting the body or wrapping it in a special film, the possibilities are almost endless. The foreign YouTube channel DipYourCar shows an Audi A4 painted with temperature-sensitive paint.
It would be an oversight not to mention that the job of applying heat-sensitive paint to the car’s body panels is actually very painstaking and time-consuming.
Special thermotropic liquid crystals are used that give different colors at different temperatures.
Unlike most thermosensitive inks you’ve seen before that use thermochromic pigments, this option is much more sensitive to ambient temperature – giving you a wider range of colors.
After applying a base coat of plastidip, the team sprayed eight coats of special paint to achieve the desired effect. From the moment it exited the spray booth, the car began to transform into a kaleidoscope of colors. As you would expect, the coating creates the effect of a pseudo-thermal chamber and changes right before your eyes as you interact with it – for example, touch.
