Next year there will be a new formula championship called the W Series, in which only women will compete. The organizer of the championship is the British Racing and Sports Automobile Club (BRSCC).

As they say on the website of the W Series, the task of the new championship is to help women get a pilot in Formula 1. The series will be judged by David Coulthard, former sports and racing director of McLaren and Manor Dave Ryan, technical manager of Red Bull Racing Adrian Newey and journalist Matt Bishop. The first stage is scheduled for May 2019.

In total, six stages with races of half an hour are planned. Initially, the races will be held on European routes, but then the calendar will be expanded by racing in Australia, America and Asia.

The racers will perform on Tatuus T-318 cars in the Formula 3 specification, equipped with a Halo system. A total of 18–20 participants will play in the series.

The prize fund is $ 1.5 million. The winner of the series will receive half a million dollars.
