There were details about the charged crossovers BMW X3 M, X4 MFebruary 13, 2019
Competition Bavarian crossovers will receive a maximum power of 503 hp. and a top speed of about 289 km / h.
Quite a long time has passed since camouflaged prototypes of high-performance BMW X3 and X4 crossovers were shown to us for the first time. Now, finally, the Bavarian premium brand has decided to talk about them in detail.
Each of them has serious power under the hood – we are talking about a 3.0-liter inline “six” twin-turbo, whose power is equal to 473 hp (600 Nm of torque).
If this is not enough for the needs of some customers of the brand, BMW will also offer a Competition version for both crossovers, which increases this figure to 503 hp. According to the automaker, this is enough to accelerate to the first hundred in about four seconds. The maximum speed is limited by electronics at 250 km / h, if you don’t get the M Driver “package” – in this case you can accelerate to 280 km / h, and in a more powerful Competition version – to 285 km / h.
Regardless of the configuration, the engine is connected to an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox. Four-wheel drive M xDrive, is standard and is complemented by several driving modes, which include a driver-adjustable power distribution setting that fully transfers power forward or backward.
Prices for high-performance versions of the X3 M and X4 M crossovers are not yet available, but BMW representatives say that mass production will begin at a plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina (USA) in April of this year.
