There was information about the engine of the extreme Pagani Huayra ROctober 5, 2020
Atmospheric engine for the supercar was developed by the German HWA AG
Information about the engine that will go to the extreme Pagani Huayra R appeared on the Web. Presumably, the engine for the supercar was developed by HWA AG, a partner of Mercedes-AMG and Apollo Automobil.
A few days ago, the head of Pagani Horatio Pagani announced a new version of the Huayra supercar. We are talking about the extreme Huayra R, which, unlike other modifications – and their number has already exceeded a dozen – will receive not a twin-turbo engine, but a naturally aspirated V12.
According to rumors, the unit was built in collaboration with the German HWA AG – this company is known for developing the original “atmospheric” for the Apollo Intensa Emozione – and its capacity is about 900 horsepower. Also, TheSupercarBlog sources claim that the motor spins up to 9500 rpm. For comparison, the V12 3.9 in the GMA T.50 spins up to 12,100 rpm.
Most likely, the Pagani Huayra R, like its predecessor Zonda R, will turn out to be an exclusively track supercar. Consequently, it will be possible to write down the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 and Aston Martin Vulcan as competitors.
In the meantime, until the release of R, Imola will remain the most extreme and powerful version of Wyra. The coupe is powered by a Mercedes-AMG V12 6.0 turbo engine with an output of 827 horsepower (1100 Nm), combined with a seven-speed Xtrac robotized gearbox. The car weighs 1246 kilograms, which is four less than the Huayra Roadster BC.
