There is information about the new Audi A3 CityhopperJune 21, 2019
Since the new Audi A3 Cityhopper will not have all-wheel drive, it will not receive the brand name Allroad. The new performance of the Cityhopper is allegedly not due until 2022.
In the good old days, rumors about the appearance of the off-road version of the current generation A3 Sportback already circulated. At the moment, the German automaker has not put a similar car. But as often happens with quite interesting projects, there were independent artists who decided to create an off-road version of the compact hatchback in this case.
So, premium cars got increased ground clearance, a silver front skid plate and plastic body plating around the wheel arches. There were rumors about the emergence of a more versatile representative of the A3 family, but so far there is no such car either.
Apparently, Audi believes that there is a gap between the compact crossovers Q2 and Q3, and wants to fill it with the new “Cityhopper” A3. It is already known for sure, the novelty will be named Cityhopper. The model will not receive the name Allroad, since the new A3 version will not have the all-wheel drive Quattro system. In other words, the engine will still transmit power to the front axle, despite the fact that this is essentially an off-road version of the car. According to reports, this decision is associated with an attempt to reduce the amount of harmful emissions.
Despite the fact that the updated A3 Sportback is likely to be shown in September this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the performance of the Cityhopper is allegedly not due until 2022.
