There are photos from the test of the new Porsche 718 BoxsterFebruary 20, 2019
It seems that the new version of the German sports coupe will be located between the GTS and the Spyder. According to recent reports, the 718 Cayman GT will be presented in July this year at the Goodwood Speed Festival.
The German Porsche brand had to release a video that tells about all 24 different versions of the extensive 911 sports coupe line, and, although the 718 family is not that big, it seems that a new model will also appear in its composition.
This interesting prototype, which turned out to be on snow-covered roads, is certainly not a version of the Spyder (according to the brand designations, this is a roadster – editorial note). He even looks a little more interesting than the performance of the GTS.
While all of the 718 Boxster models available on the market today have twin tailpipes next to each other and are located in the middle of the rear bumper (just below the license plate), this prototype is a bit different. The location of the pipes at a great distance from each other is similar to what the 718 Cayman GT4 Touring test machines demonstrated. This suggests that Porsche plans to introduce the 6-cylinder Boxster, which will be located between the GTS and the Spyder in the current model range of the brand.
At the moment, it is not known whether the versions with six cylinders located below the GT4 and Spyder will have the same engine characteristics. If so, then the 3.8-liter installation without naturally aspirated, it is claimed, will develop about 420 horsepower. Novelty can also get less compared to the Boxster / Cayman weight. It is reported that the prototype, which they caught on the camera, was installed “PDK” robot.
