There are new details about the updated BMW M3December 30, 2018
Representatives of the Bavarian brand said that the new generation of “charged” BMW M3 sedan will be noticeably more powerful and lighter than its predecessor. To reduce the overall weight, BMW engineers decided not to use a hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive.
As part of their recent interview, official representatives of the Bavarian automaker – BMW told some details about the new generation M3. A couple of weeks ago, a new generation of this prestigious car was introduced, but now it’s the turn for its more powerful version from the sports division of the BMW M.
The main tasks for the company’s engineers are to increase the power of the car and reduce its overall weight.
It is noteworthy that for maximum weight relief, it was a difficult decision to abandon the use of all-wheel drive system, as well as a hybrid power plant. It is expected that the final figure should not be more than 1.5 tons. The design will use a large number of durable and at the same time light carbon fiber.
It is reported that the long-awaited novelty will receive a 3.0-liter turbo engine, the maximum power of which will be hardly less than 470 hp Well, because the new generation BMW M3 cannot be weaker than the current version of the model in the limited CS version! As the transmission will be offered a 6-speed manual, and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Unfortunately, at the moment there is no information about when the official presentation of the new generation of the “charged” BMW M3 can take place. Most likely, this will happen next year – I do not think that the guys from BMW will delay this.
