There are details about the receiver model Lincoln MKZApril 18, 2019
The Lincoln MKZ Sedan and MKT Crossover are the only remaining models of the American prestigious brand with the old alphanumeric designations, and it is only a matter of time before they get the new names.
According to reports of a foreign publication, Car and Driver, a luxury brand Lincoln, which is owned by the American company Ford, is already already thinking about the model of the future sedan, which will definitely replace the MKZ.
This assumption is based on the application of Lincoln representatives for the registration of a new trademark, which was received in 2016. This may be a sign that the automaker has plans to use the name “Zephyr” for the successor to the MKZ sedan.
The last Zephyr, which was sold in 2006, was a sedan built on the basis of the Ford Fusion model, like the current MKZ. Although in fact, this name appeared in the late 1930s.
It is also mentioned that the change of the model name may be accompanied by the appearance of a completely different platform. The updated MKZ can be turned into a rear wheel drive car that will use the same platform as the Lincoln Aviator crossover. This is all speculation at the moment, but everything tells us that Lincoln still believes in a bright future for sedans.
But what about the “ancient” MKT crossover? Despite the fact that the new Aviator crossover is technically a replacement for it, a 10-year-old prestigious model will be offered on the market for a while. This was said last year by Robert Parker, marketing manager for Lincoln, in an interview with the overseas publication Automotive News.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the American brand Lincoln presented the Corsair crossover at the New York Auto Show.
